Design of Lassithi plateau diversion tunnel to Aposelemis dam and its water supply extension to Agios Nikolaos


Project description


Procurement study of a water tunnel designed to supply Aposelemis Dam with water diverted from Lasithi plateau.
The study involves the water supply of Aposelemis Dam reservoir from the Lassithi Plateau. It includes the construction of an approximately 3,5km long tunnel, using a TBM method.

Design services for the full aspect necessary to proceed with construction bidding:

The project involves:

  • Construction of a 90Km long external pipeline from the Aposelemis Dam water treatment plant to Agios Nikolaos, covering potable water needs to various settlements along the aqueduct. The pipelines include numerous related infrastructure such as control tanks and devices and pumping stations.
  • Plateau’s water diversion works (sinkholes, ditches, water intake works).
  • A 3,5km long diversion tunnel with an inclination ~ 15%.
  • Diversion tunnel water outlet (penstock length 3.5 km), electromechanical installations for lighting, gates etc
  • Energy dissipation outlet works
